This plate has been tested to the NIJ .06 standard, capable of stopping (6) shots of 7.62x51 (M80). Additionally, it can also stop the 5.56 M855 Green Tip, a round some Level III applications struggle to stop. This versatile plate offers comprehensive protection unless you expect to be faced with a .30 Cal M2AP threat. What does the "+" signify?
In our case, the "+" indicates the plate's ability to stop the M855 62 gr Green Tip.
What is Thermal Polyurethane (TPU)?
TPU is a plastic that is heated and vacuum-formed around our plates. After the vacuum-forming process, we seal the edges with TPU to create a watertight seal that repels moisture and even diesel. Ensuring the covering is secure is a critical step in preventing moisture or foreign material from compromising the integrity of the composite armor.
